Administration Announces Government Employee Job Cuts as Shutdown Nears Three-Week Mark
Administration officials confirmed the initiation of government employee terminations on the end of the week, following through on earlier warnings in response to the ongoing US government shutdown, which is set to stretch into its third straight week.

Russell Vought wrote on social media that “reductions in force have begun,” indicating the government’s procedure for terminating staff.
While Vought provided no details on which agencies were impacted, a representative from the Treasury Department confirmed that notices had been distributed within that department. Furthermore, a DHS representative indicated that staff reductions would also occur at the CISA.
